As his first guitar, young Jim grabbed a large round metal ashtray with a long wooden handle, strumming on invisible strings and singing along with his brother’s Kingston Trio records. Over the years, his instruments have gotten more sophisticated, and his love for music has deepened.
For many years a SF Bay guitarist who sang, in recent years Jim has transformed into a singer/songwriter who plays guitar. “The difference may be subtle,” he says, “but the song is what’s important, and the voice is the way people connect to it.”
Jim’s bag includes classics from the ‘60s and ‘70s as well as more contemporarytunes and originals. Sing along!
