Read the Bhagavad Gita in Full

  • Above Venti's Downtown 317 Court St NE Salem, OR 97301 (map)

Join us as we celebrate the day when Lord Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, on Sunday, December 15, 2024 by reading the Bhagavad Gita in full. We’re meeting up in Dana's office 317 Court St NE (upstairs from Venti’s).

We'll meet the warrior, Arjuna, and his chariot driver, Lord Krishna, on a battlefield as the horrific war will commence... but there's a pause in the action as the warrior, Arjuna, has a moment of doubt. The Bhagavad Gita is comprised of 700 beautiful Sanskrit verses of their dialog, teaching the nature of the body, the soul, and applied spirituality.

We use the celebrated Bhagavad Gita As It Is by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada for this auspicious event, known as Gita Jayanti, and read the English translation line by line, verse by verse.

Zoom option available. Email leslie@ventiscafe.com for Zoom info.Join our page on meetup to stay connected.

The timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gītā teaches how to be peaceful in spite of the perplexities of life through steadiness, equanimity, determination and surrender. “As the sea stands steady, unmoving as waters enter and fill it, so one in whom all desires thus enter attains peace [verse 2.70].

Casual, relaxed group. Everyone welcome.
